Meeting with police for people who manage and use community buildings

I have arranged a meeting with PC Nicola MacDonald on Thursday 23 March 2017 at 2.30pm at the Muir of Ord Police Station.  The initial reason for the meeting was to address ongoing problems at the Village Hall – disruption to evening classes, unauthorised entry, littering and vandalism – but  these problems are unfortunately, prevalent throughout the village and in some cases, getting worse.  I have invited others who manage or hire community buildings to attend so that we can take a collective approach to dealing with these problems.  We can expect a good turnout – thanks to those of you who have already confirmed your attendance.

I would emphasise how important it is to report incidents to the police as they happen. Call 101. This enables the police to build a picture of what is happening where and with what regularity.  We need to help each other to sort this out.

Please note that the police will be holding a separate surgery at the Muir of Ord Police Station on Thursday 6 April 2017 from 6-9pm.  This is for the community to come forward with any issues of concern.
