Creative Songwriting is for songwriters and would be songwriters. It will be led by Tom Houston who brings his experience as a songwriter and workshop leader to Muir of Ord. Tom writes for and fronts the iconic Edinburgh band davesnewbike, he is also just about to release his third solo album Plastic Trumpet. The workshop is all about the participants and their connection to creativity and songwriting.

Come along if you are looking to unlock or enrich your own creativity. Come along with a sense of adventure. Bring an instrument or just yourself. The focus will be on what we create on the day.  Bring some paper to write ideas. Bring your phone or recording device. We will work as a group, in pairs and also some solo work. There will also be a limited Open Mic slot at Tom’s gig on Sunday 13th May

As well as being the BBC Scotland Songwriter of note (Iain Anderson April 2017) Tom led and managed the project INTER-ACT for many years and also worked as musical specialist for Fablevision Theatre Company. He has co-written a Christmas Flop with Chris Difford (Squeeze) and has extensive experience in leading creative workshops.
