The Muir Hub helps launch Community Asset Lottery Fund

The Muir of Ord Hall and Facilities Company had a  visit from Big Lottery on Wednesday to tell them all about their newly launched Community Assets fund. Big Lottery staff were visiting projects up and down the country that have benefited from their funding to take on a community asset.

The hub development group were able to give an update on the project developments and have a walk through of The Muir Hub, which is now owned by the community and is currently being renovated to be opened by the end of the year. The new hub will be a meeting place for the community with local information and heritage as well as opportunities for training and social events. The Muir Hub is in an ideal location at the heart of the village and as well as improving the appearance of the high street will have lasting effect on the community.

It was a great opportunity to highlight all that has been achieved so far and a chance to look forward to the opening. The hub development grouped thanked the lottery for their on-going support and funding. The Muir of Ord Hall and Facilities Company received £1,194,455 of Big Lottery funding for the project.

It is great to see with this new release of funding that more communities will be given the opportunity to apply for funding to buy, manage or develop buildings or land.
