The Community Association was founded in the 1950s to fulfil a bequest of Mary Fraser or Sinclair, who left land and property to the community.

The Association holds the recreation grounds, bowling green and Pavilion in trust for the community and makes these available to bodies such as Muir of Ord Rovers, the Highland Skate Group and the Bowling Club.  We lease further land from Highland Council.

The Association also runs the Muir of Ord annual Gala.

The Association is a Charity registered in Scotland number SC015378 and has made application to OSCR to re-organise by making its affairs over to the Hall and Facilities Company Development Trust.
